What is strength training?
Strength training, also know as resistance training or weight lifting, is simply exercising with weights with the aim to work different muscle groups
Are the Small Group Personal Training sessions suitable for beginners?
Yes! We absolutely love coaching beginners. Our sessions cater for all levels, it doesn't matter if you are a complete beginner or more of an advanced lifter, our coaches can adapt the exercise and to suit your current level and ability.
What are your larger group classes?
We offer Yoga, Stretch, REPS & Run Club which are all complimentary for our members to book into and do not count towards their small group personal training credits. See the details here
Is there any cardio?
Our small group personal training sessions may occasionally have a short cardio finisher, depending on the programme, but sessions are predominantly focused on lifting weights. Our REPS & Run club sessions are great options for those who want to get some cardio into their training.
Can I do drop ins?
We don't currently offer drop in sessions. We want our clients to get great results, so we encourage them to stay consistent with their training frequency.
Non members are welcome to drop in to Saturday 9am Run Club for free!
How does booking work?
All of our booking is done via the Empowered Studio booking app, which is free to download from the app store on iOS and android.
How far in advance can I book into sessions / classes?
You can book your sessions up to 2 weeks in advance.
Do I lose my credit if I cancel my session?
We have a 12 hour cancellation period on all SGPT sessions if you wish to rearrange your session.
Can I train if injured?
We recommend that you always get professional advice from a physio / doctor / relevant practitioner before training if injured. Once ok'd to train, we can absolutely adapt the session / exercises for you. Our coaches are very experienced at doing this & we ever want our clients to train through pain.

We are located in Portslade near Boundary Road. Our address is Unit 8, 1 Ellen Street, Portslade, BN41 1DW. Get directions
Is there parking?
We don't have onsite parking however if you are driving you will find free on street parking around the studio.
There is unrestricted parking in the estate, in Albion street and to the west of the studio in Portslade. There are parking restrictions between 11-12 and 6-7pm on some of the residential roads around.
We recommend that you leave a little extra time to find a space.
What happens if I want to cancel my membership?
We ask for 1 months notice if you wish to cancel.
